There are days
that turn from sun to dark
in an instant
bone deep chill
sinking
pulling out
the last warmth
from tired skin
in one flash -
you return
eyes red
as if you ever left
and it goes down
from there
like a rampant
contagious
shadow
devouring
whatever was
left of you
the empty aimless
halls you walked
the cubes stacked
upon aimless stack
and all you
can do is wait
and try to
remember
what
the light
was like
